Hey everyone!

I hadn’t done an intense smokey eye in a while so this is what I came up with today. MAC pigment in Dark Soul was lying untouched in my kit since a long time and I decided to use it for this look. I wanted a black and pink look – with black and pink smokey eye and soft pink of the cheeks and lips but it turned out plummier on the eyes :)

Read on for makeup break down ..

Summary of the look :

Start by applying kohl all over the lid and set it with MAC pigment in Dark Soul (or any black eye shadow with silver shimmer). Blend out the black in the crease using a berry colored eye shadow like MAC Cranberry, add further depth to the eyes by adding a little reddish  brown in the crease (MAC Embark). Apply kohl on waterline, MAC Cranberry on lower lash line and highlight inner corner and browbone with MAC Pigment- Naked. Finish off with MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara. Wipe off any fall out from the under eye and apply foundation (and compact), apply a soft pink blush (MAC Fleur Power) and finish with a soft berry pink stain on the lips(MAC Mattene lipstick Deliciously Forbidden) !

Substitutes for products used :

MAC Pigment Dark Soul = Inglot eye shadow AMC 63 + L’oreal Paris Chrome shine eye shadow Midnight Stars(for added shimmer)

Blending out the black with the berry/plum gives it a bit of color and a twist to the traditional smokey eye. It also coordinates well with the lips and cheeks giving a good color harmony to the whole look. The look is perfect for parties or a night out, what do you say? Would you wear this look? Smokey eyes look really good on you. Have you ever tried NYX Rust eyeshadow? It’s a lot like MAC Cranberry. :)

Thanks Chris! Just check out swatch of NYX Rust online, it does look similar, will add that to the post!

Its really great, your ear rings quite good, I am thinking of getting colorbar expensive pink, thats a pretty shade! Its good that you are suggesting alternatives for creating such looks!

Thanks Taps :) Colorbar expensive pink is similar to Cranberry though not exact dupe. Its a beautiful shade for pairing with traditional wear too! You always notice my earrings :)

Hey ankita this is a fabbbbbbbbbb look… but I can never sport a smoky eye tend to look like a ” Bhootni”! but it looks soooooo nice on u. BTW mac zoomlash black mascara making ur lashes look so lusciously bful. recently I bought the avon supershock mascara on offer :)

Thanks Ishita :) Avon Supershock is the only one I haven’t tried! Loved Super extend and Super curlacious! How do you find it? I like Zoom lash but the wand picks up too much product, I have to wipe it off on a tissue before using it on the lashes. Apart from that its great!

I like the eye. Actually am wearing an outfit with a similar palette today, black and pink/copper. Will try and replicate this sometime. What I have done is use black kohl and that avon grey blue liner which I got from you. And oh, the husband was in bangalore last week and got me my first MAC lippie as a bday gift! It is a pro longwear called Sweet Ever After. A sort of golden brown with frost (that part I don’t like) that wears like an MLBB shade :) . It is not what I would’ve chosen, but Im thrilled all the same.

How incredibly sweet of him! You shall always remember your first MAC lippie :) Just googled the shade, it looks pretty. How do you find the Avon liner?

I might have hinted :) The Avon liner is really good, get quite a lot of colour in one swipe. but then i only have maybelline and lakme for reference!
