My take on the product

Shiseido lipsticks come in a metallic dark grey packaging with a unique shape which is also the logo for Shiseido. The metallic body feels sleek and heavy, giving it a very luxurious feel. The packaging is just lovely and very elegant. Its the kind of lipstick I would love to whip out of my purse for touch ups! The bullet has a curved slanted tip which I prefer to flat profiles, application is easy and convenient!

The texture of this lipstick is super smooth and balm-like. It feels slick though not slippery and glides easily on the lips. From the texture itself, one can feel its hydrating quality and it applies with a glossy finish on the lips. It has good pigmentation though its not as intensely packed with pigment as cream/matte lipsticks. The coverage is enough to cover up any pigmentation on the lips. The overall effect of the formula is a lovely natural hydrated finish on the lips. After application, the lip color settles down on the lips into a semi-glossy stain that stays on for a long long time. I’ve worn this lipstick for around 9-10 hours and at the end of it, I still has a considerable stain on my lips. The hydration lasts for around 5 hours after which I felt the need to apply balm. Overall,  I think its an excellent formula, its hydrating yet long lasting and has a very lush luxurious feel that one would like from an expensive lipstick.

The shade RS612 Gilded Wine :

It is soft wine shade with a mix of brown. Because of its texture, it does not come out too strong or bold on the lips and hence it very wearable. Its one of those shades that gives a chic look to the face, I like these shades best paired with black liner and natural blush! The shade would suit Indian complexions beautifully, its a very versatile shade – neither too vampy nor  too bold for day wear. I would highly recommend this to everyone!

    1. I’m also dying to check out the other shades, there are 2 gorgeous reds. This is actually my Mum’s 😀 I would have picked a red or pink!

  1. Hey great rosy shade it is! Looks fab on you! I want to try their foundations first! You skin looks really great!

    1. Thanks 🙂 I’m wearing Clarins Instant light perfecto r+ Maybelline BB cream. The Clarins product is amazing, makes the skin glow!

  2. I never wear wine or burgundy on my lips – I think it’s because I grew up with my aunt wearing them all the time so they don’t have good associations. I’m really impressed by how you manage to pull them off while still looking young and fresh!

    1. I know about unpleasant associations! But we need to get over them, darker shades can look really pretty, go for sheerer and glossier formulas like MAC Sheen Supreme or this one which I have reviewed!

  3. u r luking v sweet Ankita
The lipstick is v good 🙂 i liked it sheer and at it’s full color
by the way irrelevant question may be but curious… hw do u style ur hair?
wat cut is it? it’s alwaz so bouncy n wavy 🙂

    1. Hi Vish, Glad u like the color. I don’t actually style my hair at all. Its naturally wavy (dry aand frizzy too! 🙁 ) I don’t know the cut, the hairstylist just cut off the straightened part (I had got straightening done last year) and gave a bit of volume at the top.
