My take on the product
Illamasqua Cream Blushers come in a black plastic and transparent packaging with a unique pan shape. The lid is transparent which makes shade identification very easy and convenient. It comes without a mirror or applicator but since its a cream blush, fitting in a small applicator isn’t really feasible or useful. I like the packaging, especially its shape!
The cream blush is smooth in texture and very very pigmented! It is very easy to go overboard with these, therefore one must use a very tiny amount of color. I just touch a Q-tip to the surface and dab it on my cheeks and blend with fingers. Do not swipe your finger or scrape the Q-tip across the blush surface, it’ll pick up way too much product, just touch and dab to control the amount of color on the cheeks. The blush blends easily and settles to a very natural dewy finish. I have combination/oily skin and it did not make my skin look greasy or oily. It feels super light on the skin and the dewy finish gives a nice glow to the face. The only con is that it doesn’t stay for more than 5 hours on my skin. Post 5 hours, the glow and slight hint of color is still left but its barely detectable. I wish it stayed on a little longer. Setting with a similar shade powder blush may increase its staying power. Apart from this, I found the formula really great. Super creamy, pigmented and no issues of patchiness or settling into imperfections during blending!
The shade Betray :
Illamasqua describes Betray as a deep rosy plum and the description is spot on! The color is much darker in the pan, it applies lighter and much more natural on the skin. Its a very balanced neutral pink, its has enough warmth to balance out the hint of plum. On Indian skins, this looks wonderful! I think this is one blush that will go with most skin tones, pale/dusky/warm/cool and I would highly recommend this shade to everyone! It can a great everyday wear shade and would go well with all neutral, pink and plum lip colors. I have worn this just with Maybelline BB cream in the FOTD and it adds so much life to the face.
The shade reminds me a little bit of NYX Cream blush in Rose Petal when swatched on the skin but they are actually quite different, the NYX one is much warmer than this.
The GOOD about ILLAMASQUA Cream Blusher Betray :
- Attractive and sturdy packaging
- Soft, creamy texture
- Awesome pigmentation
- Blends easily
- No issues of patchiness
- Gives natural dewy finish that adds a glow to the face
- Decent staying power
- Did not make my skin greasy, did not cause breakouts
- Can be purchased online from Illamasqua WEBSITE
- Betray – universally flattering shade
- Available in many shades
- Very pigmented, one needs to be careful to use a very small amount during application
- Staying power could be better
- Shipping costs are around Rs 650-700 which makes it an expensive product

Overall Verdict
ILLAMASQUA Cream Blusher Betray is rosy plum shade that applies like a neutral pink on the skin giving a natural dewy finish and a lovely glow. The texture of the blush is soft, the pigmentation is fabulous (one must use a tiny amount!) and it blends beautifully with no patchiness. The staying power is around 5 hours on my combination/oily skin which I feel is the only real drawback of the product. I like the fact that it does not make the skin greasy but the staying power could have been better. Nevertheless, its still a great product , the shade is perfect for a natural look and would flatter many skin tones!

I also found that the staying power wasn’t superb without a primer. I have Rude and I desperately want that orangey one…which I forget the name of.
I wish the staying power was better! Its otherwise such a good product! I’ll check out the orange one u’re talking about..
