I’ve been testing some great budget lipsticks lately and it gave me the idea to do this post. The Indian market has many great affordable lipsticks that offer excellent quality in great shades, all priced under Rs 300. Some of these like Maybelline Colorsensational My Mahogany, Avon Mango Mania and Colorbar Velvet Matte Bare are cult favorites!

Here’s a compilation of my favorite budget lipsticks. I feel some good ones might be missing which I’ve not tried, please give me your recommendations in the comments if you have any favorites that haven’t made it to my list yet!

1. Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick (Rs 299)

These were an instant hit when they released in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 299, with amazing texture/pigmentation and coming in a HUGE range of colors, these are a MUST-TRY for everyone! I feel I have not explored this range of lipsticks enough! I own the shades Hooked on Pink (warm fuchsia, my earliest lipstick from the range!), My Mahogany( need I say anything about this, its the most popular nude lipstick in the budget lipstick range!) and Glamorous Red (soft coral red which most of you loved when I reviewed it recently). I’m looking forward to trying Pleasure me Red from reader recommendations and Cynthia’s Review HERE. Do you have any favourites from this range? Share in the comments below, I would love to try them out!

2. Colorbar Velvet Matte lipsticks (Rs 220)

These are the longest lasting lipsticks I’ve tried. These are creamy mattes that are more forgiving on the lips than other mattes. The shade selection is HUGE and they are packed with rich pigment, giving wear time of entire day. I have the shades Over the Top, Oh My Magenta and Brick-o-la (swatch, FOTD coming up soon). Some shades like Bare, Naked Pink, Hot Hot Hot are quite popular from range. I want to try out few more shades from this range, any recommendations?

3. Lotus Herbals Pure Color lipstick (Rs 225)

I fell in love with these when I tried out Pink Blush and Peach Crème from this range. Both are gorgeous shades and I’ve recommended these shades to many readers. These are soft, creamy pigmented lipsticks that give good wear time, feel comfortable on the lips and do not settle into fine lines. I have shades Pink Blush, Peach Crème, Rosewood and Red Rose from range. I’ve recently seen reviews of Rose Madder and Crimson Red and they both look gorgeous. Have you tried out this range?

4.Inglot Freedom System lipstick refills (Rs 250)

If you are my regular follower, you would know how much I love the Inglot Freedom system lipsticks and eye shadows! These are creamy, richly pigmented and wear for a long long time. The shade range is extensive and this is my first choice when I want to try out new and bold shades. You can fit them in a palette and carry it in your purse for touch ups/during traveling. I own shades 61, 27, 86, 37 and 3 more (swatches coming up next week). This is one range I feel I can never get tired of!

5. Avon Simply Pretty Colorbliss lipsticks (Rs 125, offer price Rs 99)

These are perhaps the most reasonable lipsticks I have come across. In their new improved formula, they are pigmented, creamier and wear well on the lips. They have some beautiful shades like Fresh Rose, Mango Mania, Truffle, Sangria and Rich Terracotta. They are quite a steal when they are on offer price and for a beauty on a budget, they can be great option! Do you recommend any shades for me from this range?

I feel some lipstick ranges are missing here- Maybelline Moisture Extreme (Rs 225) and Faces Satin Matte(Rs 299) are ones I would like to try out, I have 1-2 shades from these but I’ve never reviewed/worn them much. Lakme Enrich range(Rs 225) has some good shade but the formula/wear/scent is so disappointing that they have not made it to my favorites list. What are your favorite budget lipsticks?

Nice compilation ankita! I suggest you to try faces go chic ones. They are 199. Also you can try LA girl’s precious jewel lipstick and creme color lipsticks for 225 and 220 from stylecraze. I ve tried avon and lotus.

Lotus pure color is in the list! I would check out the others too. My only problem with Maybelline moisture extreme is that they develop fungus if not used for some time :

Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick are generally priced just over 300 each but thanks to the constant offers they give you they can be bought for something around 200/- and I would suggest Rose Wine, Butternut and Sheer Red for you… they are wonderfully moist and good value for money.
