Packaging :

Revlon Super lustrous glosses come in a square bottomed tube packaging which has a transparent body and a black cap. There’s a band of gold in between which gives it a polished look but the gold plating beings to wear off after a few months of use. The cap contains a regular sponge tip applicator inside. I like the packaging except for one thing – the mouth of the tube gets really messy after some time and a lot of product starts accumulating there! I guess it should have had the plastic stopper inside like the Colorburst glosses which prevent excess product to be pulled out.

Formula :

The gloss has a non-sticky texture and is not as thick when compared to the Colorburst glosses but its not runny either. It spreads very easily on the lips without getting uneven or patchy. The coverage is sheer-to-medium, its enough to cover any pigmentation on lips. Like all glosses, it transfers easily on contact and since its non-sticky, it doesn’t survive a full meal. However, with mild eating/drinking, it wears well for 3-4 hours. I generally do eat within every 3-4 hours so I need to reapply after a meal. It doesn’t stain like some glosses do which again is a reason why it doesn’t stay as long. It feels very moisturizing and comfortable on the lips and gives a fuller and plumper appearance. I really like the formula of these. Since they are not intense on the pigment, even darker colors appear soft and wearable which I love about this range.

The shade Wrap Yourself in Rubies –

It is softened ruby shade with strong accents of red. It contains very fine microshimmer which is visible only on close inspection and doesn’t stay around on the lips once the color has faded. The shade is very pretty and instantly gives a soft glow to the face. Its the kind of shade you can wear alone without any other makeup when you’re in a hurry, something I do very often while rushing for my morning classes. It would suit all skin tones – it has the balance of both cool and warm tones which will flatter everyone. It is one of my oldest lip glosses and I really like it! I think I may repurchase the shade once I get through it (if I do!). Lastly, I love the name! Revlon is always great at naming their products!

Highly recommended!

Overall Verdict

Revlon Superlustrous Lipgloss Wrap Yourself in Rubies is a softened ruby with red accents which has fine micro shimmer and looks flattering on all skin tones. The texture is non-sticky, pigmentation and coverage is medium and it feels comfortable and moisturizing on the lips. The formula is non-staining and stays around 3-4 hours depending on meals in between. It generally needs reapplication after a full meal. I really like the formula as well as the gloss, I really wish they improve the packaging of the product!

Ack! I hate product accumulating on the mouth like that. It irritates me so. At least this looks fabulous on you.

I really dislike that too, one reason why I don’t wear this too often even though I love the shade!
