Ever since I was introduced to Inglot, I have wanted to try the AMC blush. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I received this blush in the Facebook contest Hamper! What I was not happy about was the shade which looked like a muddy mauve in the bottle. But when I tried it on my face, I was in for a surprise..

Today I’m reviewing Inglot AMC liquid blush in the shade 85.

Inglot AMC liquid blush comes in a transparent pump dispenser bottle. The packaging is similar to Make Up For Ever liquid blushes though those come with an opaque black cap as opposed to the transparent one that Inglot comes with. The pump dispenser is hygienic but it dispenses way too much product than what is required. I like the transparent bottle, it allows the color to show through – very useful if you own multiple of these. The transparent cap that fits over the pump is sturdy and fits snugly with a click.

The blush has a thick liquid consistency. Its quite light weight yet not so thin that its runny. It is well pigmented yet not so much that one ends up with clown cheeks with a single dab of product.  It blends very easily and gives a lovely dewy finish to the cheeks. Since its quite light, it doesn’t make the skin oily or greasy over time. Since its a liquid product, the blending is similar to a foundation. So one needs to control the movement while blending otherwise, it blends a little too far down , however with this shade, since its really close to my skin tone, applying it beyond the cheeks did not look weird. I love the dewy natural finish of the product, definitely a must-have for winters and/or dry skinned women! Even oily/combination skinned women can wear it, with a little powder on top to avoid too much shine.

The shade 85 is nude dusky mauve shade. It is a very natural shade and gives a lovely natural earthy pink/mauve flush to the cheeks. The color is quite subtle but it looks very beautiful after application. I’d definitely recommend this shade for fair to fair/medium complexions, I don’t think it would show up on duskier complexions. It works very well with cool as well as warm toned makeup, so if someone invests in this blush, they can wear it with almost anything!

A very small amount of product gives the color and layering it doesn’t deepen the color much. Many times in the beginning I ended up pumping out more product than necessary and ended up applying the entire pumped out quantity onto the cheeks, after a certain point (After 2 layers), the color doesn’t intensify so you can go on layering the product and the effect pretty much stays the same (though it does increase the wear time).  This is mainly because its a nude shade, I doubt it will be the same with the darker shades.

So keep in mind to pump a very small amount while applying, if you need more color, you can always pump out a little more product.

How to Apply : You can use a brush too but so far, I’ve used my fingers to blend it with very good results. Just squeeze out a pea sized amount on the back of your palm, dot the product on the apples of the cheeks with your fingers and blend outwards and upwards for a natural, soft flush!

Regarding the staying power, it stays on for around 5-6 hours on me. I think layering the shade does not deepen the color but makes it stay on longer. The staying power is not super impressive but anything near 6 hours is good though I would have expected better for the price of the product.

When I was photographing the product, I noticed the expiry date on the product – Nov 2012. I do not know if other Inglot products also have a shelf  life of just a year.  If any of you own this blush, do let me know what expiry date your product says.

Overall Verdict

Inglot AMC Liquid Blush comes in a pump dispenser bottle which is easy to use and hygienic though one needs to be careful as the pump can dispense excess product. The blush is liquid in texture, well pigmented and super easy to blend. It gives a nice dewy finish on the cheeks and does not make the skin oily/greasy. The staying power is about 5-6 hours, the deeper shades may perform better. The shade no. 85 is a lovely nude dusky mauve shade works beautifully for fair/medium skin tones and can be paired with cool as well as warm toned makeup.

The formula is quite good though I was hoping for better staying power. I would definitely recommend it at the offer price!
