My take on the product
This it the first time I’m trying out Oriflame eye shadows and I can say I’m not disappointed.
The Oriflame trio comes in a sleek black plastic packaging which contains 2 applicators in a slide out bottom compartment. I quite like the packaging – the clean corners and glossy black makes it looks really neat and classy. The applicators provided with this are good for emergency application or for inner corners but apart from that, they aren’t of any use. There is no mirror provided with the packaging.
The texture of these eye shadows is quite soft and smooth. All the 3 are well pigmented though the quality of the shimmery khaki brown is most outstanding out of the 3. They blend decently well, I only had a bit of an issue with the centre matte taupe shade which was getting slightly patchy during blending. The khaki brown was once again a breeze to blend. As far as staying power goes, if you have dry/normal lids, you have nothing to worry about, you can wear without a primer and they would stay for a good 5-6 hours without creasing. But if you have oily lids like mine, you need to use a primer otherwise they start creasing and fading after 3 hours of wear. There are barely any fall out with any of the shades.
Overall, I think the formula is not excellent but quite decent for the price and with a primer, they perform quite well!
The packaging comes with a tiny leaflet with suggestions for looks using these trios. The leaflet contains looks for all the shades in this range, the one for this particular trio is on the right page in the image below :
The shades :
The 3 shades in this trio are – mid tone taupe with a pearl finish, dark matte taupe and khaki taupe/brown with golden micro shimmer. I really like this combination of shades! There’s a lot of variety one can create with these 3 shades and each can be worn alone too. The matte taupe works well as a crease color or for an all over lid shade. The khaki taupe/brown is gorgeous and the fine shimmer makes it perfect for an all over lid color. The lightest shade can be worn alone or with the dark matte taupe. Its a nice shade and not a traditional highlighter for inner corners but I used it to highlight and it did not look bad.
The GOOD about Oriflame Beauty Colour Pro Eye shadow trio :
- Sleek packaging
- Soft, smooth texture
- Well pigmented
- Blend decently
- Barely any fall out
- Stay on well on normal/dry lids
- Well priced
- Many shade combinations to choose from
- Gorgeous mix of shades and finishes within the trio – very versatile
- Oily lids need a primer to delay creasing and fading
- Only available through Oriflame consultants
- There might be blendability issues with the matte shade of this trio
EOTD : Lightest shade in inner corner, matte dark taupe in outer corner and khaki taupe/brown all over the lid.
Oriflame Beauty Colour Pro Eye shadow trio are a new addition to the Oriflame range and come in a variety of different combinations. The texture is soft and smooth and they are well pigmented. They blend well though one shade had some blendability issues. They have barely any fall out and stay on for a decent time unless you have oily lids. Ladies with oily lids will need a primer otherwise the eye shadows begin to crease in 3 hours.
For the price, they are worth a try! The trio Bronzed Taupe contains a light grey taupe with a pearl finish, a matte dark taupe and a khaki taupe/brown with gold micro shimmer. Its a good mix of colors as well as finishes and one can create many looks with this trio!
