Previously I’ve reviewed Colorburst lipsticks in the shades Rosy Nude and Sienna. These were one of my earliest lipsticks and remain a favorite till date! You can read the detailed reviews about the texture, pigmentation and general characteristics of these lipsticks.

To summarize from previous reviews :

Colorburst lipstick are creamy, richly pigmented, moisturizing lipsticks that fill out the fine lines of the lips to give a fuller appearance and full coverage opaque color. The lighter shades have a good staying power of 4+ hours while darker shades like Sienna and Crimson stay on for 7+ hours. They fade evenly,do not dry the lips or get patchy.  Undoubtedly one of  the best lipsticks in the market, these are a must-try!

The shade Crimson :

I’ve always been in 2 minds whether the shade is a cool toned or warm toned red. Compared to the other red in this range True Red, Crimson is much cooler but on its own it veers towards warm tone. It has a slightly glossy finish which gives it a very glamorous touch. Its a deep red as you can see in the swatch and very richly pigmented, it can be worn as light stain too for a lovely soft red color. I think its a fabulous red for warm/Indian skin tones. The shade is not too hot so its easy to carry. I’ve done numerous looks with this lipstick and recommended it to countless readers!

The lipstick can multi-task as cream blush too. Its the easiest way to coordinate the lipstick with the blush. Just dab the lipstick using fingers on the apples of the cheeks and blend. Set with powder for  lasting finish. I’ve used this lipstick as blush in my second FOTD of this post.

If you do not own a red lipstick and are afraid to try one, definitely give this a shot. When you wear it for the first time, apply only a tiny amount of color using a lip brush and build it up to an intensity you feel comfortable with. Its a gorgeous red, I’d Highly recommend it!

Nice shade, never seen at any revlon counters nearby. I too love Revlon Color Burst. They have awesome pigmentation and color pay-off and agree that darker shades do stay-put for good 6-7 hours.

Have you really used lipstick on your cheeks????? Wasn’t it difficult to blend or patchy on cheeks???

It wasn’t difficult to blend at all! I had anticipated it would get patchy but it went on quite smoothly!

Very pretty. Is it cool? Thought it looked warm. Do you prefer this one or sienna? I love your top in the first pic, am looking for a tie collar top these days…where is it from?

My best friend is down from the UK, and she is a make up whiz. She’s been teaching me stuff! She was supposed to get me stuff from there, but fell ill and couldnt shop. Will be going over for a sleepover and plan to check out all her stuff! Will report back 🙂

I think its warm but compared to True Red from the same range is hotter so I’ve always been a bit confused! Sienna is a brown while this is a Red! The top is from Shoppers Stop. Sounds fun! I’d love to hear abt it , drop me a mail 🙂

True Red is a hotter, brighter red, more attention catching than this. This one is deeper and more flattering for Indian skin tones I feel. Hope thats helpful 🙂
