Hey everyone!

Just a few days left for the Christmas/New Year party season to start. Have you planned your outfits yet? Here are a few party looks to help you look your best! I’ll be doing these looks in form of a series – starting today with look 1 – Soft steel blue eyes with glossy crimson lips. The holiday season is the best time to flaunt a rich glossy crimson lip and a great way to wear it is with a soft bluish/grey eye makeup. Read on for makeup breakdown!

Christmas/New Year party look 1 : Steel blue eyes with glossy crimson red lips

Summary of the look :

Starting with the eyes , apply a beige frosty highlighter starting from inner corner to 1/3rd of the lid, apply steel blue eye shadow on outer 2/3rd of lid and blend in the crease. Apply kohl on waterline, gel liner on upper lash line, line lower lash line with the same steel blue eye shadow and finish off with mascara. Apply any pink blush close to your skin over a good base of foundation, apply a little highlighter on cheekbones and finish the look with a crimson red lip gloss.

Thanks Ishita. Yes I’m using the La roche posay thermal water but it doesn’t seem to be helping much.

Great Eye makeup Ankita. I am really scared to use kohl on my waterline. I Feel it makes my eyes look bigger. And eventually I end up with racoon eyes. Any suggestions ?

Hi Manasi, firstly kohl makes eyes look smaller, it does draw more attention to the eyes, but it definitely makes them look more filled up and smaller. Regarding the smudging, you need to use a kohl that does not smudge so much and just powder your under eye area well. You can also gently pat some black/brown eye shadow over the applied kohl, this sets it and delays the smudging. Hope this is helpful :)

firstly kohl makes eyes look smaller>> Really?
It does draw more attention to the eyes>>May be I meant the attention. I really do not like that look of mine with kohl on the waterline. But will sure try your tips.Wanna try that smoky eye look. Thanks again :-)

You’re welcome :) The powdering tip will definitely prevent the smudging. Do try smokey eyes and let me know how it turns out!
