Today I’m reviewing MAC eye shadow in the shade ‘Ricepaper‘ which is a frost finish eye shadow from the permanent collection.
Price : Rs 900 in single pan and 680 in refill
Quantity : 1.5 g
What MAC says about the product :
My take on the product
MAC Ricepaper is one of the gems of MAC’s permanent collection and is one of the favorite highlighters among women of medium skin tone. MAC describes the shade as a ‘Peachy Gold with shimmer’ but I feel its more of a white gold shade with frost finish. The shade is fairly neutral and would work with most colors. The shimmer is quite fine, even and densely packed. The texture of this eye shadow is soft and smooth, it is well pigmented and applies smoothly with almost no fall out. It highlights the brow bone and inner corner beautifully – imparting a glowing sheen to the area. It blends well with barely any effort.
It stays on for almost the entire day- 8-9 hours. Brow bone highlighters generally tend to last long (unless you are prone to rubbing that area). On the inner corner, it lasts well too but I am in the habit of touching that area checking for any residues which makes eye shadow in that area fade faster. I have tried using this shade as an all over lid color but it looks too stark light on my NC 40 skin tone. Lighter skin tones upto NC 30 can pull it off as an all over lid wash too.
The formula of this eye shadow is worth the price but I feel the shade may look too white for dusky skin tones (beyond NC 42-43)
Applied on browbone :
One of the best and most popular highlighters from MAC’s permanent collection, Ricepaper is a white gold eyeshadow with a frost finish. The formula is excellent- smooth texture, well pigmented, no fall out and good staying power. The shade is neither too sparkly nor too dull and gives a nice lift to the brow bone and eyes.
Highly recommended for fair/medium skin tones. The shade may look too white on skin tones beyond NC 43-44.
