My take on the product

The texture of this eye shadow is smooth but not as good as some of the other shades like Cranberry, Plum Dressing, Amberlights and Romp. The pigmentation is average and you need at least 2 swipes to build up the desired intensity. The shimmer is non-gritty but does not seem very densely packed and there is a bit of uneven-ness in the texture that  is highly undesirable when one is buying a MAC product. There is some fall out too and it needs a bit of work to blend.

The shade is beautiful but the formula is not as good as some of the other MAC eye shadows.

The shade Honey Lust is gold-champagne shade with lots of shimmer. MAC describes it as a bronze dipped peach but I can neither see the bronze nor the peach! Okay maybe a hint of peach 😛 The shade looks lovely as an all over lid wash with just liner and mascara. It gives a glamorous sheen to the lids without imparting much color. It can be used as highlighter on the inner corner of the eye  too. Its not an office wear shade but its not too loud either. Women who prefer to wear eye shadows exclusively for occasions would love this shade since its subtle yet festive. It can be paired with browns, burgundy and purples as well.

Overall Verdict

Honey Lust is a gorgeous gold-champagne shade with a good amount of shimmer that adds a glamorous touch to the eyes without overdoing the shimmer. However, the formula is a little uneven in texture and not as well pigmented as one would like a MAC eye shadow to be. There is a bit of fall out and difficulty in blending as well. Love the shade but the formula could be better!

There are many other shades in this color family from MAC which deliver much better.

Rating : 3.8/5

Wow! I love the color and all but you’re right. It doesn’t look like a very even or pigmented formula. Shame!

The shade is really pretty. One can just apply a wash of it all over the lid, apply mascara and you’re done. But the unevenness and fall out is disappointing!
