Hi everyone!

Today I’m reviewing L’oreal Paris Super liner Carbon gloss in the shade ‘Carbon Black’.

Price : Rs 570

Quantity : 6 ml

What L’oreal Paris says about Super liner Carbon Gloss :

Superliner Carbon Gloss is a liquid eyeliner in a special sponge tipped pen for the creation of fine lines or thick, sultry flicks. The intense carbon black colour is applied with precision and ease and dries without smudging. Ophthalmologically tested.

Simple and quick application

Thanks to its soft and supple sponge tipped pen, Superliner Carbon Gloss gives a quick, easy and uniform application. Create a line as thick or as delicate as you wish. Hold the eyelid taut with your other hand to facilitate application

My take on the product

I love glossy black liners and this product has the perfect opaque glossy black finish. It comes in a tube packaging with a felt tipped applicator inside. The part of the tube holding the product is cylindrical while the part of the tube on the other end is flatter to enable better hold and grip between the fingers for easy application. The name of the product is written in metallic ice blue on the tube. The felt tip applicator is the best applicator I have used so far. The tip is stiff but still has a bit of spring which makes it really easy to control. It applies product easily and evenly. The only con would be that one cannot draw very thin lines since the tip is not so fine.

The product consistency is slightly on the runnier side but is still easy to work with. It dries quickly enough to allow a bit of working in case one wants to smudge the product. Single stroke gives medium opaque black line but I like going over twice just to make it completely opaque and dark. The finish is a glossy black which I absolutely love! I had reviewed Bourjois Clubbing liner in Ultra Black  few weeks back which is also a glossy black liner. I will do a comparison post of the two soon.

The product is not waterproof and can be removed easily with a moist cotton. It is sweat resistant though. I wore it for 8-9 hours and it did not smudge or bleed on my moderately oily lids.

The GOOD about L’oreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss :

  1. Convenient, sturdy, attractive packaging
  2. Sponge tipped applicator that allows easy and even application
  3. Light texture that sits comfortably on lids
  4. Dries quickly
  5. Does not irritate eyes in any way
  6. Can be removed easily with water
  7. Opthalmologically tested
  8. Glossy black finish
  9. Single stroke gives medium opaque color
  10. Priced well for the quantity and quality
The NOT SO GOOD about L’oreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss  :
  1. Not waterproof
  2. May not fit everyone’s budget
  3. Need 2 strokes for very intense black color

Here’s how it looks on me. I have applied it a little thickly especially at the outer corner.

Overall Verdict

L’oreal products are generally priced a little on the higher side but I feel this one is totally worth the price especially if you want a liner that applies easily and gives a glossy black finish. The quantity provided it also quite good and it’ll last a while. The packaging and formula of this product is excellent and I would highly recommend this to everyone. The only reason one would want to stay away from this product is if either one is on a budget or requires a waterproof liner.

Rating : 4.5/5

Hi Ankita, Looks pretty on you.
Ankita I seek your your advise here. In one of my recent visits to Big Bazaar I ended up picking a bottle of Neutrogena oil free moisturiser SPF 15 which promises protection against UVA and UVB rays. My query here is can I skip my usual Sunscreen lotion with this on my face. Do I need to layer up my face with a sunscreen even after applying this. I don’t have much of sun exposure. It’s maximum 15- 20 minutes every day. But I care for hydration because my work compells me to sit infront of the computer for more than 9 hrs every day in an AC atmosphere. I have medium toned oily and acneprone skin. Also I have been using Lotus herbals whiteglow microemulsion after reading your review on it. Believe me I’m loving it and wish to continue using it. Please help. Lots of love.

Hi Madhujyotsna, If your moisturizer provides both PA ++ and SPF protection, then you do not need sunscreen separately if you do face a lot of sun exposure. AC tends to dry the skin out and my previous experience with Neutrogena oil free moisturizer has been good though I feel its not hydrating enough and is more of a summer moisturizer rather than winter.

I love glossy eyeliners. This one doesn’t sound so bad. Wish it was waterproof though. Thanks for the review.
