Gold and blue festive eye makeup : Step by step Tutorial

Hi everyone!

Today I’m doing a gold and blue eye makeup tutorial. I wore this look in my recent festive makeup look FOTD and got a few requests for the tutorial. The look is quite easy to create and would look great paired with ethnic outfits.

Here’s the final look :

Products used :

  1. MAC Surf the Ocean pigments – gold and dark blue
  2. Revlon black eye liner (kohl)
  3. Chambor eye shadow trio ‘Mystic’ (highlight shade)
  4. Maybelline chai latte quad (Darkest shade for brows)
  5. Lancome hypnose drama mascara
  6. Lakme shimmer liquid liner ‘Midnight Moon’
  7. Brushes- MAC 217, Faces eye shadow brush, The body shop mineral eye shadow brush and Coastal Scents pointed crease brush

Step 4 : Apply the blue shade to the lower lash line

Step 5 : Apply kohl on waterline

If you do kohl first and then apply the eye shadow on lower lash line, its gives a more intense look as the kohl smudges to the lower lash line. I wanted a softer look which is why I did the eye shadow on the lower lash before applying kohl.

It sounds easier than it looks! I mean you’ve done this is in a few easy strokes. Any suggestions on dupes for these shades – the blue and the gold I mean.

It is always easier! Which is why I prefer using eye shadows that already have enough depth and complexity that you don’t need to work too much to get the desired effect! I don’t know any quad that’ll have the exact same shades together but the Faces quad in this link has a more taupe-y shade that’ll also look great paired with the gold-

Thanks for the link and I’m beginning to understand the benefits of complex shadows. Perfect for unskilled types like me as well.

Thanks Deepa 🙂 You should definitely try eye shadows- once you start using them you will get hooked! Faces I-shine quartets are really good quality for the price.

Thanks Ishita 🙂 The Lancome mascara has a rather complex brush, this was my first time using it so didn’t get it quite right. Lets see how it turns out once I figure out how to use it. But Avon super curlacious is really awesome :)!
