Hi everyone!

Today I’m reviewing one of my favorites and my first MAC blush -Fleur Power.

Price : Rs 1150

Quantity : 6 gm

MAC Fleur Power blush - Review, Swatch and FOTD

What MAC says about Fleur Power blush :

Colour for the cheeks and face. Various formulas. Different looks.

Fleur Power : Soft bright pinkish-coral (Satin)

My take on the product

Fleur Power is one of the most versatile and universally flattering pink blushes I have come across. Its a fairly neutral pink- neither too cool not too warm. I guess it can be described as a soft coral pink (As MAC describes it). It shows up well on all skin tones from the palest ones to the duskiest ones. Its a satin finish blush – its not completely matte but has a very subtle sheen to it.

The packaging is standard black MAC packaging- round pot with a transparent lid which helps in locating shades easily. The packaging doesn’t come with a brush or mirror so you need carry a brush separately while travelling. The quantity provided is 6 gm which would last a long time considering how little is required in each application.

It is quite pigmented and one needs to just touch the brush lightly to the pan to get enough color. Since it doesn’t contain any shimmer, it can be worn as day as well as evening blush. The texture is very smooth, it is very fine milled but as is the case with most smooth pigmented blushes, there is a bit of fall out when you graze your brush across the surface. Instead of swirling or grazing the brush on the surface, one should just touch the surface of the blush with the brush to avoid wastage. The blush blends easily to give a seamless soft flush of color to the cheeks.

The shade has enough warm and cool tones that it can be worn with a wide variety of looks. I’ve worn it with brown eye shadows as well as cool plum eye shadows and it looks great with everything. It looks a little peachy in the pan but shows up as a soft warm pink flush on the cheeks. It gives the face a instant lift. It lasts on me about 6-7 hours and longer if when used over a base.

If someone is looking for a versatile pink blush - I would highly recommend this shade to women of all skin tones!

The GOOD about MAC Fleur Power blush :

  1. Classy black MAC packaging – transparent lid makes it easy to locate shades if you own many shades
  2. Smooth texture – finely milled powder.
  3. Very pigmented
  4. Blends easily
  5. Lasts long time
  6. Very small quantity required for each application
  7. Would suit all skin tones
  8. Satin finish- can be worn with a variety of looks
  9. Did not irritate my oily acne prone skin in any way
The NOT-SO-GOOD about MAC Fleur Power blush :
  1. Does not come with an applicator or mirror
  2. Very soft texture- causes a bit of fall out if one is too harsh while picking up product on brush
  3. Expensive!
  4. MAC is available only in select cities

This is how it looks on me. I have used it a little heavily so that it shows up well in the pictures :

Overall Verdict

It is a gorgeous coral pink blush with a satin finish that gives a fairly neutral pink yet brightening flush of color to the cheeks. The formula is excellent in terms of texture, pigmentation , blendability and staying power. The shade is versatile and works with warm as well as cool toned makeup. It is one of the most popular blushes from MAC and for good reason!

Highly recommend it everyone!

Rating : 4.5/5

Which is your favorite MAC blush?

this is very nice an dlight…. loooks like the powdr version of “something special”

Reply
Corallista said on 12-10-2011

Thanks Bee :) Something Special is gorgeous but I think Fleur Power works over a larger range of skin tones whereas Something Special would flatter fair skin tones more!

What do you have on your eyes please? Is it tempting?

I have Sable and Twinks on my eyes Lola and in the last picture, I’ve patted a little matte black eye shadow over it to give it a smokey look.
