My take on the product
The blush comes in a grey and transparent plastic packaging. The packaging is small and comes with 2 compartments- the top one for the blush and bottom one for the mirror and the brush. The packaging is similar to Colorbar blushes but looks classier and sturdier. The L’oreal true match range logo is engraved on the blush surface and makes the packaging a little more interesting. The brush that comes with it is the flat kind common to most blushes and feels a little scratchy. However, it is useful for touch ups. The packaging looks appealing but its so small that handling it feels a little inconvenient sometimes.
The texture of the blush is quite smooth though slightly powdery. Its not too soft so the blush doesn’t come off like loose powder on contact with the brush. Single swipe gives sheer color which can be built up in 2-3 swipes. The texture and pigmentation makes it easy for use for beginners. The staying power is average- it fades away after about 4 hours on my oily skin and may stay a little longer on dry/normal skin types. The product blends easily to give a natural flush to the cheeks.
The slight notch visible in the lower part of the blush surface is just my nail that gouged a bit of product out while taking pictures. Otherwise the blush is quite well compacted.
The shade ‘102 True Rose’ :
Its a peachy pink shade with slight shimmer. The shade is in the same color family as Colorbar ‘Peachy Rose’ blush. The shimmer is very fine and subtle , much more so than the Colorbar blush which has slightly chunkier shimmer. The shade is best suited for fair skin tones and cool toned medium skin tones can also make it work by layering it. On my NC 37/NC40 skin tone, it shows up as a peachy-pink flush that looks quite natural.
The GOOD about L’oreal Paris true match blusher 102 True Rose :
- Classy, appealing packaging- transparent lid helps identify shades easily
- Comes with a mirror and brush for touch ups
- Smooth texture
- Sheer-medium pigmentation, can be built up in 2-3 swipes
- Easy to use for beginners
- Staying power is average 4-5 hours
- Shade 102 True Rose gives natural flush to the cheeks- good for everyday wear
- The brush could have been softer for the price
- The staying power is less
- The color may not show up on dusky skin tones
Here’s how it looks on me :
There are no glaring cons with this blush but at the price, one would expect better staying power and a tad better pigmentation. The packaging is quite attractive, the texture smooth and it blends easily to give a very natural color and finish. The shade ‘True Rose’ is a pretty peachy pink that would suit fair/medium skin tones but its not a unique shade and is easily dupe-able.
