Hi everyone!

Today I’m reviewing one of my favorite warm nude lipsticks- Lakme enrich satins no. 133 (from the Fantasy collection).

Price : Rs 225

What Lakme says about the product :

AMAZING SATIN TEXTURE
Cast a spell in satin. Rich color takes life in a luxuriously creamy stick that brings satin to your lips.Enriched with sunscreens, vitamins and the goodness of olives, your lips will have a story to share. Indulge in a pod of beautiful shades ranging from floral pinks to shimmering peaches.

My take on the product

The lipstick comes in the regular Lakme enrich range maroon packaging. The packaging is OK- not very attractive but sturdy enough. The bullet though breaks easily and I have known many others who have faced the same problem with this lipstick.

The texture of the lipstick is smooth  but not too buttery. It glides easily on the lips and gives opaque color is single swipe. The finish of is not entirely matte but neither glossy. It doesn’t feel very comfortable or moisturizing on the lips though and it does make the lips a tad dry after some time of wear. It lasts on me about 3-4 hours and sometimes more depending on the type of meals I consume in between. It has a distinct unpleasant smell which is one reason I do not feel like applying this lip color sometimes.

The shade 133 :

The shade is a gorgeous peachy brown nude– not too nude that it may wash out medium complexions completely but neither too loud or dark. It is the perfect shade to pair with a  warm brown/copper smokey eye and I have worn it in many of my smokey eye looks. It is quite a versatile shade and can be worn with a toned down eye too for a natural look.

Highly recommended to all fair/medium skin tones. It may wash out duskier skin tones. Even though the quality of the lipstick isn’t the best, its one of my favorites simply because of the shade.

The GOOD about Lakme enrich satins lipstick no. 133 –

  1. Smooth texture, glides easily on the lips
  2. Very pigmented
  3. Gives full opaque coverage to the lips
  4. Has a very natural looking semi-matte finish
  5. Gorgeous shade- can be worn for a variety of looks.
  6. Very reasonably priced.
  7. Easily available everywhere in India.

The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lakme enrich satins lipstick no. 133 –
  1. The bullet is not very sturdy and breaks easily (even though it doesn’t melt)
  2. Feels a little drying on the lips after some time of wear.
  3. Dull packaging.
  4. Has a strong medicinal smell.

This is how it looks on me (worn alone without gloss or lip liner). Worn in FOTDs HERE and HERE.

 Overall Verdict

The quality of this lipstick is average when it comes to texture, staying power and moisturization but the color itself is so versatile and gorgeous and despite its many cons, I find myself reaching out for it every time I sport a warm smokey eye. The bullet tends to break after some time and the packaging can definitely be revamped to something a little more attractive. Maybelline and Lotus Herbals counterparts in the same price range offer better quality but would recommend this lipstick just for the shade.

Rating : 3/5

  1. u use it a lot na ankita…n it luks very nice on u.. breaking is very often problem wid the lakme lippis.. even i had a broken 1.. :/
    but a nice shade..

  2. me goin to get this one….hope this goes well with wine/plummy e/s……do u know if nyx has any shade similar to this?? n d MUFE primer is good….very light, glides on smooth and dries superfast….n doesnt break me out……my skin is super sensitive n oily too:-(

    1. It will go with Wine Plummy e/s but I think it works best with warmer shades since its on the brownish side. NYX Frappucino and Perfect would be close to this but a bit lighter(from what I can see in online swatches)
Thanks for replying to my MUFE Primer query, I’ll check it out when I go to MUFE next..

  3. The earlier Lakme lippies were extremely dry and hard. It’s as though they improved the creaminess of the formula by compromising on sturdiness. The shade looks lovely on you, but I am sure it will wash me out. Even a darker shade like choco-pop is barely there on me and my mahogany just looks plain wierd. So will stay away, regretfully.

  4. 133 is a very nice shade-comes out almost as MLBB on my lips-but I must say Lakme has plummeted its quality of lippys-its not creamy or moisturising-1 hour in A/C and lips would feel dry and chapped 🙁 🙁 And Ankita-you look gorgeous!!!! whats the eye-shade you r wearing?? Looks like Revlon crayon in metallic brown to me 🙂

    1. Thanks 🙂 Yes, its nude peachy brown- pretty much how it appears in the pic here. I’ve had the damaged-lipstick-inside-sealed package experience with Streetwear lipsticks 😐
