Iridescent violet and deep rosy pink makeup look : FOTD and Makeup Breakdown

Hi everyone!

This is a cool toned purple and pink makeup look I tried today. I’d received a sample of the mineral color eye shadow ‘Grapes Shimmer’ from Nature’s Brilliance by Sue a while back and I decided to pair it with Bourjois rouge hi-tech lip tint (click to read review) which is deep beetroot pink.

Grapes Shimmer is a gorgeous violet-blue duochrome shade with a pearl finish and I decided to wear it alone, all over the lid to let the color show.

Summary of the look :

Start the eye makeup by concealing and priming the eyes. Apply a bluish violet pearl/frost finish eye shadow all over lid, apply kohl on waterline and smudge a grey/lavender eye shadow on the lower lash line. Line upper lash line with a blackened purple liner, highlight inner corner and browbone with a shimmery violet eye shadow and finish off with mascara. Apply foundation and set with powder. Apply a rosy pink blush and use a matching lipstick on the  lips.

Thanks Shweta! The medium is OK..doesnt match with my skin tone perfectly but I make it work. It has a bit too much yellow for my tone. Ohh the light one is too light 🙁

The Faces brush is very good Sneha, you can apply as well as blend with it. If you are looking for budget buys, then just get 2 of the Faces ones 🙂 If you’re willing to spend a lil more, you can go for TBS brushes. Basic ones are 1- application, 2- blending 3- smudging. I’ll be doing on this shortly so u can have a look.

I would probably also pair this with a bold lip. I’ve done similar looks that I then paired with a pale lip or a nude lip and it just ended up giving me a very washed out look.

What lipstick would u pair it with?
I am quite experimental otherwise but pale/nude lip is something I stay away from, just doesn’t work for me!
