What MAC says about the product :

Highly-pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well.

SABLE – Gold-plum w/bronze pearl (Velvet)

My take on the product :

MAC Sable in a mid-tone pink brown eye shadow with a plummy undertone and a bronze pearl finish.  The beauty of this shade is its versatility. It can be paired a lot of shades- nude/beige shades, pinks, purples, browns, plums. The shade would suit most complexions.

The frost finish of this shade gives just the right shimmer to the eyes- a very subtle wash of this shade livens up the eye area. It looks a little pinker on the lid than in the pan and gives a soft look when paired with just kohl and mascara. The shade when worn alone, is subtle enough for office wear too.

The texture is super smooth, there is almost zero fall out and it stays on my oily lids for 7-8 hours easily without a primer without an creasing. The color barely fades even after a full day of wear. The pigmentation is very good- one swipe of the brush gives the true color of the eye shadow on the skin.

I think it is one of the finest neutral eye shadows from MAC. If you’re a working woman and fond of wearing eye makeup, this is a must-have shade for you!

The GOOD about MAC eye shadow ‘Sable’-

  1. Very good pigmentation.
  2. Super smooth texture
  3. Zero fallout
  4. Stays on even oily lids for 7-8 hours without creasing, fading (Without primer)
  5. Beautiful shade – can be paired with a lot of eye shadows-beige, pink, purple, brown, plums etc
  6. Will suit all complexions
  7. The frost finish gives very subtle shimmer – appropriate for office wear too.

The NOT-SO-GOOD about MAC eye shadow ‘Sable’-

  1. I cannot find a single con for this shade!

This is how it looks on my eyes. I have applied SABLE all over lid with MAC Cranberry eye shadow in the outer corner and crease.

Overall Verdict : It is one of the finest neutral eye shadows from MAC and my absolute favourite for neutral/soft eye makeup looks. Super smooth texture, awesome pigmentation, zero fallout and all day long staying power – there is nothing more one could want from an eye shadow! The shade is soft pinkish brown with a plummy undertone that can be paired with a lot of other shades and would suit all complexions. MAC eye shadows come with a hefty price tag but for an eye shadow like this, it is totally worth it!

Highly recommended to everyone!

Rating: 5/5

Will I repurchase: Yes!

Haha!! you don’t need to buy the whole thing at once! Buy one or two shadows every 2-3 months and fill it up slowly 😛
