Lotus Herbals pure radiance daily matte-glow foundation- 670 Caramel(L) Review, Swatches and Photos

Hi everyone!

Today I’m reviewing one of the recently launched foundations by Lotus herbals-pure radiance  matte glow daily foundation. These come in 2 variants- one with shimmer and one without. Since my product says (L) and contains very very fine and subtle shimmer, I’m guessing its the variant with shimmer even though the shimmer is barely visible.

Price : Rs 175 (I picked it up from Beauty Centre for Rs 154)

Quantity: 25 ml

So choose a shade to find a “Brighter You” everyday with Lotus Herbals PURE RADIANCE™Foundation.

My take on the product :

Ever since reading the press note of its launch, I’d been dying to get my hands on it. The words “matte” and “glow” were the main attraction for me as it would be for most oily skinned women.

This foundation comes in a sleek frosted transparent bottle with a dull gold screw on cap. You need to squeeze the bottle to take out the product through the nozzle. The quantity offered is quite less- 25 ml which also explains the very affordable price tag.The texture of the foundation is thick and non-greasy. You need to make a little effort in blending since its not one of those super easy to blend foundation.

It feels quite light on the skin but contrary to the claims, does not cover all imperfections. The coverage is somewhere between medium to full. It conceals most of my blemishes but I still need a concealer to conceal the redder ones. It claims to keep the skin matte for hours but for me it works for about 2-3 hours max after which I need touch up. It performs better in mattifying than other oil-free foundations I’ve used so far which require me to do touch-ups or dab a tissue on my t-zone right after the first hour of wear.

The shimmer is very very subtle– in fact, I didn’t even notice it at first. It does give a subtle glow which is suitable for daily wear. The foundation has a mild pleasant fragrance exactly like the botanicals compact. It wears off in a few min of application.I think the best part about this foundation that makes it “daily-wear” is how light it feels on the skin- no heavy, cakey feeling.

One big drawback would be the shade selection- there are only 3 shades Soft Ivory, Soft Beige and Caramel. The SA at Beauty Centre matched me with Soft Ivory but gave me Caramel fresh piece and being in a hurry,I did not check the shade. Its a little darker and more yellow than my skin tone and thus doesn’t give the perfect match and glow but I think I can make it work but mixing a little red color corrector and some moisturizer. Soft Ivory is the lightest shade with a pink undertone followed by Soft Beige which has a yellow undertone. Caramel is the darkest with a strong yellow undertone. There are hardly any options for darker skinned ladies so if you’re above NC 42-43, I don’t think you’d find a match in this range.

This is how it looks on me. You can see that it gives a little glow to that face-

The GOOD about Lotus Herbals pure radiance daily matte-glow foundation –

  1. Sleek, sturdy and travel friendly packaging.
  2. Light oil-free texture.
  3. Gives matte effect without drying the skin.
  4. Gives longer matte effect than other oil-free foundations.
  5. Has a mild pleasant fragrance.
  6. Contains very very subtle shimmer that gives a slight glow.
  7. Is suitable for everyday wear- feels very light on the skin.
  8. Very affordable price.
  9. Lasts long (but need touch ups)
  10. Gives almost full coverage.
  11. Non comodogenic
  12. Did not break me out or irritate my skin anyway.
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lotus Herbals pure radiance daily matte-glow foundation –
  1. Need to blend properly.
  2. Does not give 100% coverage as claimed.
  3. Does not keep face matte entire day.
  4. Limited shade selection.
  5. Not available yet in all outlets.

Overall Verdict : It is an oil-free, light foundation containing very subtle shimmer that gives a matte effect along with a subtle glow to the face. It is very affordable and perfect for everyday wear but the shade selection is very limited. A little effort is required to blend but once well blended it gives a smooth finish without drying out the skin. The matte lasts longer than other oil free foundations on me but not too long, you will need touch up with compact after 2-4 hours depending on the oiliness of your skin.

Recommended to all oily skinned women (if you can find a good match in the shade)

Rating : 4.25/5

Will I repurchase : Yes

Have you tried Lotus Herbals matte glow foundation?

I hardly ever use foundation…except for my powder one. I have Lakme’s invisible foundation for dressier days, which is kinda okay at best! Will check this out, guess caramel sounds like my kind of shade.

The coverage is medium Shreya, it conceals most of my blemishes. It doesn’t conceal some the stubborn reddish post acne marks on my cheek but apart from that it gives decent coverage. Please try it once more. I wore this foundation today and my sister told me my skin looked nice 😛

Hey Ankita, How are you dear……..hope doing good.
Are you also an oily skin beauty? My skin is also extreamly oily acne prone and to aggrevate the situation I get tanned very easily so needless to mention that I have blemishes on my face. After this review I’l surely give this a try. But sweety could you answer a simple question of mine…………..
Mei aaj tumhare purane posts par rahi thi…………..sorry tumhe tum bola…….perhaps because you seem to be my age…………..tum he tum bol sakti hu na?
I read your review on Chambor compact powder liked it very much seems to be iseal for me but you know I’m little confused because I had seen another product from Colorbar the other day it said “TripleAct Compact Powder” One step application. A combined product of all three (Consealer+ Foundation+ Compact). Now tumhi mujhe bolo ki mei kaunsa kharidu? Whichever you suggest I’l shut my eyes and go for that.
Another question, If I may ask. Tumne dikhaya ki Chambor comes with a refill pack. Is it like a complete compact powder with a refill pack at 725/- matlab do- do powder milenge 750/- ke andar? Please bolo na. I know I’m asking too many questions but thats what you get for being so pretty and nice.
    Love you lots………… Take care

      Hi Madhu,

Chambor compact is really good and the Rs 725 includes the refill pack also- its the combined price. While Chambor one is a powder formulation, the Colorbar product you’re talking about is almost like a foundation- and it is not powder form but creamy form. It will give you more coverage. If you want a powder compact which you can wear alone or over foundation or do touch ups with when you face gets a little oily, go for the Chambor one. But if u want a one step more coverage base makeup go for Colorbar one. It really depends on what you are looking for. I have not tried the Colorbar one myself but a lot of people say its really good. I think it will be better if you want a little coverage for blemishes. Chambor one will not cover up the blemishes.

I have this in Light-Beige. Its the perfect shade and gives a nice matte look throughout the day for me. i guess it didnot give you a matte look for the entire day cause you got a ‘L’ variety. Mine lasted me my entire day at work..me happies about this 🙂

Ohh thats great!! Maybe once I finish this (which should not take too long since its not a lot of quantity 😛 ), I’ll get the regular one. While buying I thought this was the regular one cos the shimmer was not noticeable and the SA told me this is without shimmer, the shimmer ones will come in stock after few days!

Haha some SA’s are really dumb. thats why we have blogsphere to make an informed decission. But do go in for one without L and make sure you get the right shade this time 😀

And yes, do finish off with a compact, i found that way it gives a matt look for a really long time..and wold require no wiping or touch ups throughout the day..
