My favorite neutral/natural lipsticks: Swatches and FOTDs

Hi everyone!!

When I first started wearing lipsticks, I first had a fixation for pinks followed by a love for reds (read Revlon Colorburst ‘Crimson’ πŸ™‚ ). My current favorites are however neutral/natural shades. I like my nude/neutral lipsticks to have a hint of color otherwise it gives a washed out look to the face. The beauty of such shades as compared to completely nude shades is that they can be worn on their own as well as paired with dramatic eye makeup!

Here is my collection of neutral/natural shade lipsticks-

1. Maybelline color sensational ‘My Mahogany’ (Price- Rs 299)

Nude shade with warm pink undertone.

        2. I don’t like Silk woods so much..its too nude. You’ll love the is such a versatile shade! I haven’t Amway yet..will do sometime if I find a consultant. I will check out Brick though..a lot of people have recommended it to me! πŸ™‚

  2. Hey Ankita, have been reading your blog for quite a while now so it’s about time that I make my presence know! You’re doing a fabulous job here πŸ™‚ Keep it up!

I own two of the shades you mention here and I love them both! Didn’t you find lakme # 263 a little dry though? Also, the lipstick kinda ditched me and broke into two, any suggestions on what I can do to resurrect it?

    1. You made my day Rini πŸ™‚ I’m glad you enjoy reading my blog..
I do find Lakme #263 drying after some time but I generally top it gloss if it feels too drying. You could store it in a small container like a pot or lip balm container and use it with a brush. Like Esha suggested you could watch a few tuts online how to do that πŸ™‚

  3. Rini there are lots of video tutorials on how to either depot the whole lipstick or restore them back into the lipstick bullet. Good luck with it.

  4. Wow..I like them all. Tough choices here. I guess I’ll go with colorbar this time πŸ™‚
Glad to see your blog is up again. Couldn’t access it since past 2 days.

    1. Lakme 263 is really worth checking out…I feel Silk woods washes me out a bit as compared to the others. Will check out the Lotus moist petals Natural Haze πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Divya, I was making some major technical changes so the blog was down for 2 days. But its up and running now πŸ™‚
