Hi everyone!

My coastal scents 88 original palette arrived finally and here is a quick look I did today.
This a parrot green smokey eye look paired with dusty pink lipstick and bronzer on the cheeks.

On a well moisturized face, apply light foundation , set it with compact and apply a little bronzer on the cheeks. For the eyes, prime the lids and apply MAC Smolder and smudge, apply parrot green eye shadow on outer 2/3rd of lid, lime green on inner 1/3rd and blend at crease with dark brown eye shadow. Apply black liner on upper lash line and finish off with a coat of mascara. Apply dusty pink or peach lipstick on the lips.

This is the finished look -

You are so into green these days!! :) and it does not clash with the blue in your outfit… looks good actually…
the lipcolour is very good…. how is the staying power?

Thank you Anks! I just got the lip color yesterday so haven’t tested the staying power yet but will let you know in a day how much it lasts.

Beautiful eye makeup, i love shades of green & blue & this one just fits the bill. I’ve 88 metal mania palette, but I’ve been lusting after this CS 88 original palette, guess will have to really whip out my card & hit the ‘buy now’ button :)

Thank you so much! I picked up the 88 original cos I was looking for pure shades of green, blue and yellow. I’ve heard good reviews for Metal Mania one too. Maybe will pick that next from CS :P

I’ve only tried the eye shadow brush shown in the pic and its quite decent. I don’t know if the concealer and foundation brush from Faces are good but you could give it a try , a lot of people use brushes from Faces and I’ve heard good reviews. You could use your third finger for applying and blending concealer and you can use a sponge for foundation , like here I’ve used The Body Shop sponge for applying and blending foundation.

also how is mac smolder is it smudge proof??

MAC Smolder smudges a LOT Shivani more so on oily lids. My piece is new so yesterday was the first time I wore it. It didn’t smudge so much on me, just faded a bit by evening but on my Mum who has watery eyes and oily lids, I smudges a lot. If you want to go for a kohl, go for MAC ‘Feline’. Its a limited edition product, has been re-launched with Cham Pale collection which is in stores right now. Its finish is even darker than Smolder and its much more smudge proof than Smolder.

yours is original na… this is all matte then?

Reply
Corallista said on 19-03-2011

Oh no..this is the best part! Its a mix of matte and satin finish.most of them are a little satiny in fact!

Ik said on 21-03-2011

oh good.. cause i hardly use eyeshadows that too at night so i thought getting the shimmer palette would be a good idea.. now I know what is better! thanks!! :*:*

hw r the shadows??i mean finish texture wise….they ook smooth on oyur lids…mine are cresy so most shadows crease and run …the colors are wow in the pallette

The shadows are quite good Shivani. Most of them are neither completely matte not shimmery..a nice satin finish. I’m guessing you have oily lids. You need to use a good primer/base underneath set with a little loose powder to prevent eye shadows from creasing. The colors are beautiful!

I ♥ your FOTD & plan to buy CS palette soon.
I’ve to ask though, what color eyeshadow would you suggest for brown eyes? since I’m not sure green would go well with my eyes.

Corallista said on 19-03-2011

Thanks Gauri. All Warm shades (brown, taupe, khaki, bronze, copper, gold shades) are great shades for brown eyes. Apart from that, purples and greens bring out the color of brown eyes beautifully. My natural eye color is brown and green goes very well with brown eyes. Make sure you choose a deep dark shade instead of too bright a shade first time. The shade I have used here is a very ‘safe’ green to start with..

Even deep dark blue shades work wonderfully. I’ve worn a deep blue shade here..

Hi Ankita, I love this green eyeshadow look, and am loving your Coastal Scents palette. Did you order directly from their website and, if so, how long did it take to arrive?

Reply
Corallista said on 19-03-2011

Thank you so much Sabrina! Coastal Scents in an online retailer and purchases can only be made through the website. I ordered on 25th of Feb and received my package on 15th of March. I’ve known others to receive their package in around 2 weeks. They package is extremely well and the palette reached in very good condition without any damage at all.
